|
The purpose of this study is to analyze the oral health and health-related quality of life of the elderly to improve the health-related quality of life as well as oral health through effective plaque care. The subjects of this study were 1,921 elderly people who were suitable for the analysis using raw data from the 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey (2016-2018). In terms of oral health and health-related quality of life, when there is no any prosthodontics, oral hygiene products such as floss was used, and when dental treatment is not required, the health-related quality of life is high. I could see how important oral hygiene care is. If oral health is well managed through promotion and maintenance, the quality of life related to health will increase and you will be able to well-being. Healthy periodontal management is expected to be possible if the oral health program for the elderly is carried out not with treatment but with prevention. Based on the results of this study, it is intended to provide basic data for the elderly oral health policy by proposing the development of an oral health care program specialized for the elderly for the management of dental plaque and dentures, including education on how to use oral hygiene products for the promotion and maintenance of elderly oral health.
